Embodying Presence: The Yoga of Personal and Planetary Awakening:
A Zoom Class Series with recordings available for those unable to participate ‘live’.

Dates:  9 Tuesdays: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16
Time: 9 – 10:30 PDT, 12 – 1:30 EDT

The focus of this class series will be:

evoking and sustaining awakened/open hearted consciousness
aka Presence or Being
refining our seated meditation, asana and movement practice (Becoming)
active participation in nurturing and supporting the emerging planetary consciousness. (Belonging)

Each class will involve:

1. continuing practice of evoking Being/Presence in meditation (True Meditation)through the felt sense of open spaciousness and a soft vulnerable heart and stabilizing our capacity to sustain Presence throughout the ups and downs of life.

 2. raising up the vibrancy of the cellular/organ systems through relaxed and guided attention to help: increase our sensitivity to the fullness of life, and
decrease our habitual and dysfunctional reactivity (Somatic Meditation)

3. stabilizing this vibrancy through samadhi practice in various yoga postures and simple movements (Somatic Meditation). ‘Letting go’  (Ishvara pranidhana) is a crucial practice, but we cannot just let go into a vacuum. We need to build strength and resilience so we may begin to process our personal and collective trauma safely.


Bringing this into the world on a moment to moment basis (Belonging) is the primary class homework. For the specific topics of each class, see the bottom of the page.

a. introduction of relevant Yoga Sutras to clarify and support our inner work
b. continuing work with Taoist energetic anatomy and spirituality to support our somatic practice
c. support for working with challenging habits and small traumas.
(Stronger traumas require ‘one on one’ professional support.)
d. continuing support in nurturing our relational field (Belonging)
e. exploring insights into the emerging new dimension of planetary consciousness aka the Noosphere.
f. anything else that may arise in the field of our explorations

The formal class, which will be recorded and available to all later the same day, is an hour and a half in length. For those attending live, there will be an additional half hour informal ‘cafe’ for questions and social time.

Covid is not the only ‘virus’ spreading through the planetary field at this time. Ignorance, delusion and fear driven behaviors permeate all aspects of modern culture. A strong and grounded meditation practice is a key antidote to the current insanity. Keep practicing !!!
